I have a problem with my Vaillant ecotec plus 624 boiler. The fan is very intermittent, I set the temperature to max on the dial on the front of the boiler while it is running the temperature on the screen only show about 55 degrees, the fan will occasionally kick in for a minute or so then the temperature then raises to the normal temp of about 75 degrees when the fan stops the temperature then drops back to about 55 degrees. It seems there is an intermittent fault somewhere. Last night the boiler worked as normal ie the fan kept on kicking in as it has done for years and the house was nice and warm. But this morning the fan was back to the unreliable position. I am going to have to get a certified gas safe guy to have a look at it but would appreciate any clues. Would it be best to get Vaillant service engineers to see it or would a general gas safe guy be capable. The boiler is only used for the central heating NOT for hot water.

Cheers.

A Vaillant specialist will be more experienced and have better, access to parts - so in the long run, may work out cheaper.
