Hi Folks!

We have just replaced our old boiler with an Ecotech Pro 24. This was not a new boiler, probably 2 years old. It was installed as a temporary solution in an old London house as the owners were due to have a complete new system installed. Anyway, as ours was not working, we decided to install the Ecotec, however we have failed to get it working. It appears that the boiler is full of muck from the old system it was running on. valiant have replaced the pump but could not get it going as the sensors in the boiler are so clogged up! The valiant engineer said it should be Ok once the system is power flushed. Is this possible if the boiler won't even run? And, how much are we looking at in terms of cost? there are 7 radiators on the system (ground floor flat). Or should we ditch the whole thing and spend the money on a new boiler?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.!

Thanks

Yes you can have your boiler & system Power Flushed .

Get quotes for the flush,£250/£450 IMO

It is a basically quite good boiler.

You would not get a power flush AND boiler clean by someone who knows what they are doing and with a guarantee to make it work for the figures quoted above. ( Well except perhaps in Gwent where work may be short! ).

I would be a little hesitant to give a firm price but I have done similar boiler resucitation for about £200 but that does not include power flushing the system.

At the end of the day most would say that you would have been better to buy a new boiler and have it professionally installed with a guarantee! there are also Local Authority notification issues as well!

i done something similar recently. Manufacturers had washed their hands of the 8 month old boiler. Band B with 3 heat exchangers full of carp. All clean now, but did stress to the customer there would be no guarantee that the boiler would be perfect afterwards. You just don't know how much damage has been done til you get the most of it out. This one was lucky. The only guarantee you'll get(or should!) from any engineer is clean rads.
Those gianonni heat exchangers will come clean on pflushes only if all the coils have 'some' flow. If any are blocked its a gonna.
