Vaillant help please

NG's responsibilty officially ends at the ECV these days. They are not allowed to fix appliances, indeed it is not their fault that you had a faulty appliance and it will not relight.

If they find a dangerous fault or a gas leak on your side of the property they will 'make safe' and leave you to call in your own corgi to fix the fault.

Most people are grateful that their home has indeed been 'made safe'.

When was your boiler last serviced? As you appear to have to call in an 'emergency corgi' then it does not sound as if you have a regular corgi who services your appliance every year and would check things like the ignition.

I suggest getting someone in to service it and asking them to fix it at the same time ;)

In the end we had to call our Corgi man; he came out and relit our boiler in about 20 mins without any trouble.

You're right that we should have had the boiler serviced more recently - we've booked a full service in for the next couple of weeks.

The thing that gets me is that NG came to my house while I was out, did something that made my boiler go out, but then denied that they had anything to do with it and did not apologise at all...

..but at least I've got hot water again
