Hi Hope you can help, I have a Vaillant Thermo Compact and the pressure has always been rock steady at 1.5 bar, I noticed yesterday that it had dropped to 0.
I checked for leaks around the system including the PRV but found nothing obvious, and no works had been done in the house.
Re-pressurized back to 1.5 bar with the boiler cold, when the boiler had fired up I took a peek later on and the pressure was in the red, after a mild panic, I drained off no more than a cup full until the pressure had dropped to 1.5.
Can these gauges go faulty, as now with the boiler cold it shows 0.6 and when running at 70c it's 1.8, I did check the FAQ about Expansion Vessels, does this sound like a diaphram has failed or a dodgy gauge?
