Ensure boiler flow and
return service valves are open.

is there any light fault indicators showing

Hi thanks 4 the quick reply, i have no idea what i am doing im only going off what ive been reading on the forums as i have no manual to refer to. Ive quarter turned both the left and right valves underneath (with a flathead, not touched the middle one cos im taking it that the gas) but nothing seems to be happening. When you turn the hot water tap on its hot for about 3-4 secs, then starts making weird screaming noises, then cuts out with the hourglass flashing on the front. The model is a Vaillant turbomax vu gb 242-3 - pro 24e.
Thanks again 4 replying i dont use the internet much and didnt think anyone would reply.

Hi,
Sounds like you may have closed the main Flow/Return isolators under the boiler, these should be left open (the slot parallel/ inline with the pipe).

To fill/re-pressurise the boiler (what it sounds like your trying to do), you should look under the boiler on the 4 th pipe (from left), at some point there will be a filling loop (likely flexi braided hose) that will have the filling valve on that - you need to open until the system pressure - on boiler guage, reaches 1.0 -1.5 bar then close filling loop again.

What is the guage currently reading?
