Vaillant Turbomax 242/1, No hot water

Hi,

Vaillant Turbomax 242/1 (i know very old)

Been having problems with my boiler (hot water) for the past last 6 months.

Hot water used to go cold and hot before, but now has stopped all together. The only way I can get it to work is by putting the heating on.

with the heating off and only on hot water, the boiler tries to fire up sometimes, it gets to a certain point then stops.

Is there any point getting this looked at or shall i just get a new boiler??

Turbomax is a quality unit, get it fixed.

Diverter valve, plate heat exchanger or combo of the pair probably required.

they do like a diphram or two in the diverter

and the carppy plastic arm on the hw microswitch as well

deffo get it fixed
