I have a vaillant combi boiler fitted and the pressure valve keeps dropping to zero every couple of days I can refill and it will work ok.
any body heard of this problem and a cure most greatful.[/b]
Sounds like you either have a leak somewhere or the prv is discharging, Top up the pressure and walk round all CH pipe and rads, go outside and you should see a 15mm copper pipe sticking out of the wall (usually a few feet below the flue) see if its dripping. If theres no sign of water, leak could be under the floor or boiler could be short circuiting internally (more complicated). Also it could take a while for a damp patch to appear.
my wife just told me that last week the pressure gauge whent into the red so she turned it of and at that time hot water was coming out of the overflow????
Problem might be lack of pressure in the expansion vessel. Does the pressure rise sharply after the heating comes on, and then drop back after the heating shuts down?
