Hello
I recently moved into a new house with a Vaillant TurboMax installed.
Due to minor surgery the control flap has been down allowing access to the inside of the boiler.
When pushed back together, the boiler would trip the electric.
A screw had threaded so it wouldnt stay closed anyway.
With other jobs to do, this was put to the back of my "to do" list.
This morning I decided to address it.
I put everything together tidy, turned the electric off, pushed it back together and addressed the screw.
Done!!!
Electric on.
Heating on.
Tap on for a quick wash...
Oh no!!!
Burning smell. Poss' plastic.
Boiler broke -no lights etc.
Pulled the flap down and a metal solid cube on the front right is red hot.
Took ages to cool down.
Once it did I re-tried the boiler... Dead as a Do-do!!!
Any advice as to what it could be?
Should I phone an Gas engineer or an Electrician???
Any advice would be useful.
Thanks guys.
