Vaillant VCW 242 EH water section pressure vessel

Hi!
I have a Vaillant VCW 242 EH that is still going strong. I have had some little issues with hot water.
I would like to know if the pressure vessel that is connected to the water section needs to have any pressure put into it??? I know the newer water sections do away with this vessel but mine still has it attached. So I am wondering if it needs pressure in and if it needs bleeding in any way after it has been removed???

Will be difficult to pump up that vessel.
You need electrical air pump to do the job

New boilers should have one fitted, perhaps not all but some do especially if there is a check valve on the mains water supply
