We have just had the 2nd repair to our 831 ecotec boiler in 2 weeks.
2 weeks ago boiler had stopped and condensate was coming out of the fan casing. BG fitted a new fan. 2 days later the boiler had again stopped and condensate was dripping from the burner assbly near to the sight glass (that's very high up the boiler!!). BG have fitted a new gas valve today.
Leaving aside the condensate external drain issue...
is the boiler meant to trip when condensate begins to back up?
if no such system, are there aftermarket devices to fit so that early shutdown will occur when condensate back up occurs?

BG engineer has suggested I fit an external frost stat and electric heater to assist with freezing issues. Are there any kits available for this as a package? (boiler is in a very cold garage - have to live with this...)
