My hot water has stopped working, when hot water is selected the boiler (valiant turbo max plus 828e) shows the temperature shoot up on ignition then makes nasty noises like a coffee machine (boiling water/steam) whilst the pressure gauge jumps about and the ignition cuts out (I guess as protection for overheat) and the water temp drops to cold again. I'm guessing it's either a blockage somewhere or a pump that's knackered. What are the likely parts that could be wrong? I have noticed recently that the hot water temp hasn't been its best when running baths, would this point towards a blocked heat exchanger somewhere?
