Hi there
we have above boiler and today there was no hot water...i know one of the radiator s is leaking and going on this site , i was told to turn the two valves on/off to refill the boiler....that worked and we got hot water again. However, although we now have hot water, its running very low, compared to the cold water tap....and now the pressure level which was about nil has stormed up to almost red level.does this ring any bells with anyone?;i have now turned the whole thing off because its into the red
thanks for any advice;the boiler is a couple of weeks old

have bled rads, and they're hot now....husband's soaked , lol;pressure is down to good level, the only thing that hasn't changed is the hot water still comes out in dribs and drabs

btw, i'm going to retrain myself as a plumber, i'm not academic, but creative.....maybe i should have gone that way ages ago :D at least you'd get a sense of achievement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure which way they turn  at the mo, the pressure is ok, the hubby is soaked  and to be honest, we might have to call the mobile home owners  at least the pressure is in the normal gage at the mo.The thing is, there are two valves but no instructions on which way to turn them and which one is which;it does howl when we turn it on.We had a valliant combi before this(not good\) then we got a new boiler;now we're remodelling the house and going to get a new boiler (the one we have now is in the mobile home(new when we moved in) .we're about to order a new one, it certainly won't be a valliant .maybe we should just go for a wood burner lol

they say closed on the valves when they're closed...i think you'd better rethink that plumbing course.

What part have the installers played with all this?

In two weeks the pressure should not have gone down.

I think you need to call the installers back to check everything, mend the leak and then tell you how to operate the boiler.

Have they filled in the Benchmark Certificate?

Tony

Thanks Tony
We're temporarily in a mobile home we are renting and the company we are renting from came and installed a new boiler bcause the other one didn't work .was hoping i wouldn't have to call them out because they always end up staying the whole day :( But you're right, will call them and invite them to spend the day

In that case as you are paying rent then you should expect them to sort things out.

Odd that they have so little to do that they want to spend all day there. Are you exceptionally attractive?

Tony

LOL
the repairmen flocketh to me.....
Apparently the boiler , as you suggested , is still under warranty so Valliant will be coming out.And I thought it was just a name

Part of the problem is a leaking radiator. That is not covered by a boiler guarantee.

If its an installer's fault then it is likely to become a chargeable visit.

You should not be calling Vaillant yourself as if you do you will be liable for any charges.

Tony

Hi Tony
Apparently they are calling Valliant, so I should be ok :)
thanks
ingrid
