Hi,

I noticed that the pressure on my boiler was dropping, looked through these forums and saw I needed the 4th valve from the left, turn 90 degrees with the key or a screwdriver and turn the valve next to it.

Simples.

Only, when I turned the 4th Valve I heard a brief gurgle... then nothing. Moving the 5th valve makes no difference either. No pressure increase, no water sound.

Now when I change the position of the 4th valve (moving between 0 and 90 degrees) I hear nothing.

Anyone got any ideas what could cause this (the water is definitely on..) ? Or is it time to call the plumber?

You need to turn the two screws underneath, near front of boiler. Though it wouldn't be unusual for one of these to be seized. If you still can't get it to fill, would be cheaper to get a plumber to fit a remote filling loop on pipework below boiler than buying an overpriced Vaillant integral filling valves.

If it's just a very slow pressure drop over months, then this is normal. If losing pressure quickly, this needs to be investigated. If you get a remote loop fitted, ask the plumber to check the boiler's expansion vessel charge at the same time.
