Hi. Last year I noticed the pilot light on the above fire was slowly getting smaller and if the fire did light, the gas would shut off for a bit. I got it serviced and it was all fine. I am now having the exact problem again so I called a gas engineer (different gut to the one I called out last year) for a service and see what the problem was. He says that the gas fire has a low pressure and so I need new gas pipes. I have been thinking about this and I don't understand why I need new gas pipes as the pressure was fine after servicing last year. Could it not just be a new Thermocoupler and new pilot burner unit? If someone could help explain that would be great.
