If you bring pipes up service void traps could still be in the way .Note how drawers are shaped to fit around the trap, not the model you show but you get the idea.

Yes thanks its getting the pipe up without hitting the first draw that is the issue. With a unit with draws.

I was thinking of this one with the waste brought up through the bottom of the unit on the left hand side.

Its easier to accommodate the trap and pipework in most units with doors once one accepts there will be a loss of storage

It's acceptable to drill a 45mm hole in the bottom on most units I take it.

Ive never considered it an issue unles it cuts through a cam if its been constructed with them.
Seal the raw edges well incase water runs down the outside

I usually use a couple of coats of yacht varnish thinned with celulose thinners but some press silicone into the raw edge until its well coated

As said... Smear silicone over raw edge.

Thanks and as said is it seen as pretty normal to bring the waste up in the cupboard when swapping a basin for a vanity. As can't get to move the pipes as all tiled. Usually fit from new so can first fix correctly.

Yes, absolutely fine.

The only way of getting the waste in the service void is to do something like this with the waste. Which isn't the best practice.

Hence why looking at the one where can come straight up and still have draws on one side.
