Varnish, wax or oil for restored Victorian doors...

I've had all the doors stripped and sanded but am unsure about what's going to give the best finish to the wood. What have you folks one that worked well?
 
Danish oil or matt varnish will show-off the grain best :wink:

Thanks! I'm inclined towards matt varnish - would they look best with any sort of treatin/staining before te varnishing or not?
 
If as you say theyve been sanded already then another light sand in the direction of the grain if needed after the first coat with 120 grade aluminium oxide paper
