Hi

Been in our house for about 10 years and never given the doors any attention. I now need to do all of those horrible internal brown hollow doors.

Would you recommend expensive stuff or bog standard varnish?

Whats the best approach in terms of undercoat etc?

We have a 5 year old so would also appreciate advice on products which reduce nasty niffs etc.

Thanks cedrich

You mention varnish and undercoat, are you painting the doors a different clour or just tarting them up with a coat of varnish?

In terms of nasty niffs, go for water based paint/varnish - also very quick drying, clean brushes in water but they can be a bit more difficult to apply and you have to be careful with brush-marks.
