Vectra Spluttering!!!!

Hi, I have weird problem with a 1.8 1999 Vectra.

When accelerating the car is fine but trying to drive a constant speed the car slows down (as if my foot was completly off the gas) and then accelerates again. It only lasts a second or so then imediatly happens again.

I think that describes the problem!!! If I had a nodding dog and tried to drive at a constant 30 on a smooth road, his head would be nodding!!!!

Does anybody have any idea's. Car is regurally serviced and runs ok apart from that (although is fast approaching 100,000 miles now).

I have however, recently had the petrol tank changed (not sure if that could be related or not though).

Difficult to diagnose,could be a number of reasons why,fuel problem,air problem or a position sensor sending erratic info to the E.C.U. I think you need to plug it in to diagnostics.

Careful you don't damage the catalytic converter if the mixture is erratic.
