VELUX roof windows leaking

2 Windows were installed.
Strongly numbered out and secured.
Flashing correctly installed
Tiles.cut back to edge of VELUX.
And finally a membrane fitted ,protruding at least 2foot in all directions.

So water is getting inside and dripping from.very top of VELUX.
On the horizontal top frame.
This really sucks cos the work put in was perfect.
I'm pretty sure the ridge tiles are to blame.
Water getting into cracked mortar joint drips down behind new membrane.
Always something else to sort out

Why did you not slip your new membrane under the old ?

The channel isn't part of the kit, i dont think.
As i was fitting it, the instructions explained about that pack.,where a kit that sits at a approx 30degree angle above VELUX?? Is that correct? It looked like it helps water.run off? But when purchasing, no comment referee.to the existence of a extra kit needed.
I cut original felt in a "V" shape, too.bottom.sides.
And got a new membrane and extended it 3foot in all directions. I wasn't lazy. I removed nails from latts. And slid membrane under these .
I then fitted top and side frame sections , which secures the membrane.

Leaks above the Velux should not be an issue as long as you fitted a deflector.

Best thing to do is find the leak in the roof .. not the underlay
