Velux window and boiler flue

There is a very similar question to this on the forum from a few years ago, but posting again as my circumstances are slightly different and not sure if there might have been a change to the regulations in that time.

I have a lean-to, single storey utility room at the back of a Victorian house. The boiler is located on what would have been the old external wall of the house and the flue vents horizontally out via the side wall of the lean-to.

Have been planning to insulate the roof and put a Velux window in for more light. It will be in the centre of the pitched roof, so approximately 1.5m from the side wall where the flue is. Last night I happened upon the regulation where a flue has to be more than 2000mm below a Velux window. That just isn’t possible here.

However, there is also a diagram in the Building Regulations that shows a 600mm buffer around a window on a pitched roof - this would be ok.

I’m a bit confused because the 2000mm example seems to refer to vertical flues. I messaged a friend who is a gas engineer yesterday and they said there are no issues with a horizontal flue and a Velux.

Is anyone else be to advise on if the window is a no-go?
