Yes and I do this for a living... 55 x 98 or 66 x 118 would have been a better option.

Velux window timber strengthening

Yes agree with that but wanted a bottom opening velux design for lofts not middle opening as those size you suggested.
It may be futile, but it's probably worth contacting the scheme provider first, over your concerns, before attempting any DIY interventions.
I'm giving up as I've got better things to be doing with my weekend!
Regardless of this, given that you've cut two rafters I would try to add a additional 3x2 at either side - as the velux isn't quite at mid span it should be ok - or send velux a sketch - they might check it for you (but they might also try to sell you a shorter window!).
