I'm not sure whats the best way is but I got my blinds by an blind company and they put the brackets onto the top rails of the windows ( pvc )
word of warning when you do it, dont fit them too low, i went to a customers house to change a glass unit, i took it out and found this
the screws were touching the glass, i'm suprised the fitters didnt shatter it when putting the screws in!
