Hi I want to box in a boiler and put a cupboard door on the front its a combi does it need a vent on the cupboard ?

If so can the vent be on the inside or outside wall and how close can the vent be on the outside wall to the flue the flue comes up about 300mm then out the wall on an elbow

cupboard will be 350mm deep x 1.4m high x 500 wide

all depends on make and model of the boiler they are all different it will tell you what is required in the installation and servicing instructions for your boiler

Assuming it's a balanced flue boiler why not use a louvred door? All you are doing is preventing the buildup of heat in the cupboard. Alternatively mount the door on extended hinges so there is about an inch gap behind it top and bottom which would let out any heat.

ALL boilers are different BF or otherwise YOU MUST FOLLOW THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS regarding compartment ventilation and combustion ventilation (these are both different) no advice can be given without knowing the make and model of your boiler
