Working in a property that is full of the stuff.
Installed in about 2003-5
Getting conflicting information from the Web regarding possible asbestos contamination.
Anyone know if vermiculite install around 10 years ago is a concern.

Don't want to go down the route of getting an asbestos firm in if not needed.
Thanks

HSE, says that the year 2000 was the cut of point, for when asbestos products were used in buildings. That does not mean this product is not older than that, but you would not expect it to be in a property from 2003.

AIUI vermiculite as we know it in the uk has never contained asbestos, but in places like Canada it did, which may be where the conflicting advice comes from.

I thought it was all imported from that area of the globe, didn't think there was any produced in the UK?

By law I would have thought your employer should have made you do an asbestos awareness course.

Any building of that date should have no asbestos, except some not common exceptions.

the building though if pre 2000 may have asbestos elsewhere, and should have an asbestos register which you should have consulted Prior to any works
