My house sounds like a VERY loud foghorn when I turn on my cold bath tap. The pipes shake and even the floor - even the kids are terrified. This started about two weeks ago and has gradually got louder / worse.

The only way to stop the noise is to turn on one of the other cold taps in the house i.e kitchen or cloakroom tap. As I said, this only happens when I turn on the bath cold tap, nowhere else. Incidentally, the bath tap is a mixer with a shower attachment (pull up nob thing on it). There is no noise when it's on shower setting.

Help !! :?

Its probably wear and tear on the internals.

I would strip it and replace the washers for starters.

Well, if the floor vibrates you will have to locate the pipes and secure them properly.
