loud humming vibration coming from loft tank

any ideas?
when we turn the hot and cold taps on, or run a bath, this loud vibrating noise comes from the loft tank and it takes ages for it to gradually die down, been in this house for 4yrs never heard it before but its happening every day now.any ideas?

You need to replace the washer in the float valve that fills the loft tank. It's usually simpler to change complete valve. New ones only cost a couple of quid.
