Just be aware that going from VGA to RF that the quality will drop a lot. It's okay if you're showing video. But if the content is text then it will look horribly fuzzy on anything other than jumbo massive fonts.

Also, the Freeview tuner on a TV won't see an analogue RF signal. It's a digital-only signal tuner. You need the TV switched to the analogue tuner. If these are ordinary TVs then check the remote for a button something like TV/DTV or go in to the menu for source selection. Also be aware, some of the newest small LCD/LED TVs are dropping the analogue TV tuner all together. It's worth just checking what you have got.

We could do with some more specfic detail to sharpen up the wooly vague descriptions in your OP. For example, how do you pipe Sateliite round the TV system at the moment. Is that via the Labgear 8-way RF amp or is there a separate wiring system for that? If so, what gear is at the source end and what channel/input does each TV have to be on to see that satellite signal?

Depending on your answers to the above we can advise how to do this and maybe even point the way to a better solution.

Morning all!

ok try to get a signal from a CCTV DVR to tv's around the house.

the house has sockets in every room and tv's with freeview and analog.

we use labgear ms581e i think off the top of my head.
HD sat / radio / analog + freeview distribution over signal coax to Triplexed Outlets.

not too worried about some signal loss, as long as its not horrid!

can't be any worse than trying to use the mobile apps!

Thanks for extra info. That helps a lot.

The thing you need is called an RF Modulator. It converts a signal into analogue RF and adds it to the existing signal spectrum going through your aerial wires.

You'll need to do a bit of searching on the web but basically what you want is one with the ability to change the output channel number so it doesn't clash with Sky and the Freeview channels. It also needs an RF input as well as the output. This is so it can "add to" rather than simply be "instead of" the signal from Freeview/Sky.

RF modulators that accept VGA might be harder to find than those that work with a basic video signal. For the signal from CCTV its not worth the extra hassle and cost IMO.
