Hi

I'm after some advise, I have recently had TRV fitted on all rad's except 1 in the hall where the room stat is located. As the upstairs rooms reach required temp, and the valves start to close I get a loud Vibrating / Banging sound coming from the rad / valve. If i manually close off the TRV the vibration stops. My pump is on speed 1 and the vibration can vary between 3 out of the 4 rads upstairs, never downstairs.

Any help would be much appreciated as it is starting to really P**s me off...

Many Thanks

Graham

eh?

Try nearly-closing the lockshield valves on the offending rads. Try 1/4 turn open.

Excuse my lack of knowledge, but how do I check if they are fitted backwards? They seem work OK but make a bloody noise!!!
I think they are ECA? bought them from screwfix...Seems odd that downstairs have been fine but not upstairs???

Thanks for the help so far!

I can see the arrows pointing into the Rad and then down the pipe. How do I check if this is correct?

thanks in advance

run the system from cold with offending rad turned off
let it warm up :D
then turn it on and feel the pipes first one to warm is the flow arrow should point that way :D

valve plunger is oscillating possibly round the wrong way,cheaper valves are prone to this are you sure they are multi directional
