Hi all,
I've noticed in our house that we're suffering from a low frequency vibration which I believe has been getting worse in the last month or so. I'm not sure where the vibration is coming from, perhaps it could be through piping, I don't know for sure. Any ideas??
It is 24hrs a day in intervals of about 1 minute with a short break, it tends to start off slow (at its loudest) much that it even vibrates the single glazing in some windows, but only lightly before fading out. Its very low frequency and some guests don't even hear it.
It's baffeling me. I've looked at;
piping (although minimal checks I can't feel the vibes on the pipes)
guttering
no toys left on.
coils in speakers
guitars....
I can't hear it from the outside or feels the vibe on the outside walls.
We're eot in an 80s built house.

Should I be posting on another forum?
thanks for any info

no hotel. we're in a 3bed end of terrace house in medway kent ME post code area. I'm checking other webistes and wondering about this vibration...
I'm nearing completion of my garage conversion and wondering now if I've introduced this problem somehow over the past year of my diy adventure...

Doubt it KS, sounds like a pump until you mension the window rattling.
Any major ind est nearby.

You need to work out where the vibration is coming from. Try isolating various things and see if it stops.

Turn the cold off at the main stop tap, turn the heating off, try isolating electrical circuits etc.

Once you have located where the noise is coming from you can then worjk out how to rectify the problem.
