Am wondering if it is possible to view rsj position by lifting floorboard. Damage has been caused to my house by neighbour's rsj placement possibly into my side. Party wall agreement was to place their new rsj only half way into shared wall.

Yes, if that's the level that its at. If they've breached your wall I'd be concerned re transmission of sound and fire too.

How do you know that they've gone too far if you're asking where to find it?

If a PW Award is in place and there is damage then just go straight to your insurer/solicitor and claim aganist the neighbour. It's a waste of time you trying to look and see anything.

Tried to upload photo but no luck. Builder cut in half existing shared rsj that ran across both houses but went deeper than half way and I have the photos from neighbour's side. Placed a much bigger rsj on top to support new loft extension but I have no evidence of where it was placed. Party wall surveyor hopeless

If they went more than 1/2 Way is there a hole in your house?

If it’s a solid 2 brick think wall there are rows where the bricks go sideways to tie it all together.

So there was a single rsj that used to span both properties and he's chopped it in half, and you suspect he cut it off centre such that it might now only have a 75mm bearing etc?

Plus there's a new one that's been placed somewhere?
