Hi

I need to put down vinyl floor tiles (tile or laminate effect-sister hasn't decided yet!) in a bathroom. Just needed advice on best way to tackle it. The floorboards aren't in great shape and need sanding to take away the uneveness. Then was going to put down 6mm ply and stick the tiles to it. Does this sound ok, or does the ply need preparing first. Also any suggestions of suitable vinyl tile adhesive?

thanks

If the floor is in really bad shape, then ply would cover the sins. Make sure it's well screwed down to stop any flexing. Seal it with PVA, then again before laying the tiles. Mix is shown on the PVA or tiling box.
If floor is sound, you can lay hardboard first. The hardboard has to be soaked in water first to expand it. Then, while wet, nail it down every six inches in all directions. When it dries, it will try to shrink, but can't so goes very tight and flat.
Then follow the previous advice about PVA. ;)
