So you post on here specifically to complain about the state of your path/drive that you also say you intend to rip up in the near future?
It may not be the nicest repair, but it’s done by a guy whose job it is to get a cable from road to house and get the internet going.
I doubt any electrician running an underground cable would make good any better.

You could have discussed you shoving a bit of conduit under the path in advance.

How would they do that given that the path seems to butt up to a wall?

Whilst not wanting to dismiss the OP's annoyance, I can't, based on the photos, see how an installation by anyone else would have been significantly different.

No prob mate.

As I said on previous page, I had a look at other cable installations on my street. Some of the house are identical, in that the cable runs along the same path, with cable box in exactly the same place.

None of them have this issue.

Bit late now, but next time I'll take added precautions. Thankfully, I am planning to replace driveway.

Going to cancel Virgin, don't want their engineers drilling into my wall.

The picture isn't the best , especially viewing on a phone screen, all I could see was the wire across what may of been a path// part of the drive surrounded by grass....

When I had virgin the cable had already been laid, but it cut across the garden lawn very close to the surface with no protection at all. lets just say not a problem any more as no longer with them, but when I discovered it reported it and they weren't interested, I could certainly have damaged the cable when I was digging up the lawn, but knowing how well they throw these things in I didn't expect it to have any protection and I could trace roughly between the house and it entering the garden. so avoided it getting severed.
