i have the above van its taking longer to start each day ie turning over more before firing any ideas? cold or hot

One or more glow plugs have failed, fairly cheap to replace, appprox £8.00 each, 4 needed.

we had those done dec before last and i was told that it doesnt rely on those much to start?
 
Beg to differ, glow plugs do make a major contribution to the ease of starting a diesel engine.
If you replaced them with cheap ones, they could well have failed again, at least have them checked.

thanks for that i will do that this week thanks again....
 
check the starter motor main connection, I had this problem of my 406, main connection was corroded, cleaned it up, sorted.
