My turbo blew up last night, 2 on E bay. What do I need to be aware of when replacing turbo. RAC hero says intercooler will need flushing, any advise on what else I need to be aware of before I replace would be gratefully received. Is it a simple enough job?
Many thabks in advance to all who take trouble to reply.

Ian, sorry i dont have the answer its more of a question?
I have a 53 plate 1.9 and yesterday on my way home from work it lost all power, by that i mean it still revs but very slow and wont go above 3000 rpm and really struggles to pull the van.

I know nothing about engines so how do you know your turbo has gone what symptons do you have.

i would expect to see a lot of smoke out of the exhaust and maybe some oil if the turbo has blown,it can send a lot into the exhaust which will be a pain to get rid of and may even need removing to clean
