Void behind dot and dabbed backer boards?

Will the voids behind dot and dabbed backer boards cause any problems or cosmetic issues once tiled and used in a bathroom?

Will the dabs be cold bridges to the masonary wall for example?

Is there any solution, or is this not an issue?

Can you confirm if you mean by Backerboards you're talking cement boards ( usually Wedi or Hardi ) ?

Like wedi yes, but Marmox in my case.

What adhesive are you using for Marmox boards?

Mapei Super flexible (standard set) - you then use plastic dowels, screwed through dabs and wall to mechanically fix them in place.
