vokera excel 80 e combi bolier problems please help

Can someone help me please i have just bought my first home and over the last 3 months the bolier has been fine until last week when i notice that when in the shower the hot water would been fine then it would turn cold hot and cold you get the point. on checking the boiler i noticed that the water bar sits at 1bar when not on and the temp is at 0c but when i put the water and the heating on the water bar goes to 3bar and when the temp gets to 80c it stops the boiler working and turns its self off i thought it was because the temp was set to high so i turned the water and heating temp right down but it still runs up to 80c then cuts out . i live in scotland so this needs to be sorted asap should i get someone in to have a look if so can you tell me some things it could be so i dont get coned...

Possible two defects on the boiler. One is lack of service and other expansion vessel. Both (more than likely) will be fixed during a service.

Also temperature gauge should not go to 80 or drop to 0. Burner should alternate between high and low flame. This yet again would suggest installation is 'dirty'. Typical plate to plate heat exchanger fault. Better to address the source of the fault instead of changing parts. Suspect cause external to boiler.

Above can only be proven conclusively by carrying out fault diagnosis on site. Good boiler well built.
