I am sorry to have to tell you Peter, but the APS probably stopped working BECAUSE you blew into it.
They are very sensitive and are only rated up to 8 mB whereas your blow could be up to 30 mB and that can rupture the thin rubber inside.
To test them ideally use a "T" piece with a digital manometer and see what pressure they open and close at with a continunity tester on the contacts. They operate between 0.4 mB and 1.4 mB which is a very low pressure. Only ever blow TOWARDS an open tube and not INTO the tube.
