Vokera Linea 28,No c/h or h/w

Ok guys I got to the boiler fixed yesterday, turns out it was the ignition control board, swapped the unit over and boiler run fine.I stripped the old unit it down and there were signs of burning on 2 of the resistors, solder was loose and thus causing the intermitting fault. Thanks for the help guys

and the winner is dan

the old resistor solder is a favourite on vokeras......love that job when i get it :D

Either the spark electrode. ignition PCB or gas valve.

I think that he was hedging his bets there!

He only deserves 33% of the credit!

You cheeky get!

Well, if the truth be known, I'l comproimise of half credit 'cos I had the same problem recently - totally intermittent, but we changed the spark leads first (cheapest option) then the PCB - problem solved.

Vokera were useless as depsite calling them three times in front of the boiler, could give no tests to see which component had failed.

Which sligthly surprised me 'cos it is the first PCB that I have ever needed to replace on a Vokera (although I have diabled an over-run attachement that had failed on an Excel) & their tech guys are normally very good.

Thats not surprising because diagnosing faults is difficult in respect of parts like PCBs which cannot be tested apart from observing their function.

Thats why fault diagnosis proves so difficult for many people. Its a mixture of skill, experience and luck.

ive found the vokera guys very good when diagnosing faults and despite their very slight tone of disdain when you phone them ive had a 100% success rate with them and think they are one of the better tech lines. i always get to speak to someone quickly too......baxi take note

I had this fault and got it fixed my self by changing the ignition pcb part no vokr 1837 . my boiler was not igniting I had no hot water or heating for 6 days. I checked gas inlet and outlet to unit, then 240v and 24v to ignition box as described in user book page 44. Alway refer to installation & serving instruction book for problem. this book has instruction and diagrams. if you don't have this book see if it's available to down load or ring volkera on 0870 333 0220 they may be able to send one to you. My error code was 01 and I had no spark in unit. Error codes on page 38 code 01 , page 39 then A2 page 41 , then page 44. Diagram on page 54 top letf 1837 page 58 for part description pages 59 and 60 for circuit layout. Page 60 M14 240volts pin 1 and 2 , M4 24 volts on red and black if ok change ignition controller box.

I hope this helps all people with problem with ignition and not starting modes as this took me some time to work out.
