My boiler is not heating the water! When I turn it on the central heating works fine but the water is not coming through to any of the taps i.e. the water is only luke warm at best.

If I turn on the water by itself the central heating kicks in even though its not set to be on? The pressure also seems to remain at 1 even when on which doesn't sound right either.

Does anyone know if this is a common boiler problem which should be easy enough for me to fix myself?

Cheers

This is a system boiler the boiler is not at fault your external controls are.

Sorry but I dont understand what you mean. Are you saying it's the settings on the boiler or something not working right completely independent of the boiler?

Yes thats what he was saying.

By external controls we mean the programmer, room stats, cylinder stats, motorised zone valves etc.

In this case I would check out the zone valves first.
