I have a wall hung 28se which requires a new expansion vessel. There is a gap of about 300mm between the top of the boiler and the celling would this mean the boiler would have to be removed from the wall to be able to remove the vessel. It certainly looks like it but I just need confirmation as I was thinking of getting a new boiler at sometime in the future and dont want to have pay for a very expensive repair.

I actually did one of these, but lower power might have been 14 or 15 can't remember.

Anyway I found the boiler had to come off the wall. When i got it off I studied it hard to see if I could have done it any other way and concluded no, it is a boiler off the wall job.

I think the Ideal designer's cousin at vokera came up with that boiler.

hmm, 28SE is the same chassis as a linea but doesnt have the gubbins of the combi IIRC.

pretty sure that if you have the physical space to remove the vessel it will come out of the top if you remove the flue elbow, removing the elbow should only take ten minutes. dont see these very often so im struggling to remember the exact detail TBH.

either way taking a mynute off the wall is a caker, flue elbow, drain system, four connections, leccy cables out and lift it off. easy.
