Draining down the boiler, The drain valve connector is the small brass hose tail to the right of the safety valve, how do I actually open the drain valve to drain the boiler?

just put a hose on it then a spanner on the nut and turn anti-clockwise a few turns till the water comes out, dont take it too far out though
