volume problems

i had to re install my windows xp pro but now the volume does not work, where can i find it to install it again or what do i need to do?

ive just recentley done the same,the drivers are missing.
go into the device manager to see what ishigh lighted,then you will need to hunt for the missing drivers on the web.

thanks for the quick reply but when i go there it asks if the device is connected or not, it isnt as i have no hardware to connect. am i missing something here???

is it onboard sound if so try the board manufacturers site

sometimes its in with the proc drivers as well

be prepared for some running about metaphorically speaking

i still forget to do it when ive done mine

there are some generic drivers about depending on your setup

another way is download something like driver detective

scan your m/c then write down the names of the missing bits

i'm better with boilers than pooters

i downloaded
unkown device identifier,and it threw up all sorts of info for me.
once youve done this,as said spend an age finding what you need.
