The power steering pump literally fell off last night when driving the car! AA says Power Steering Pump bracket is broken! Car squeezed loudly before the pump fell off but when he tested the Idler Pulley, alternator with revolved freely no problem at all. Also the engine ticks over over smoothly. Anyone have any ideas what caused this and if the fix is easy? By the way we recovered the drive belt which was intact and in pristine condition i.e no scruff or burn marks to indicated any seized pulley. Many thanks.
