HI,I HAVE A 2004 VW PASSAT 105 BHP 1.9TDI ESTATE.I HAVE NOTICED LATELY A LOSS OF POWER FROM THE CAR,WHILE DRIVING.ITS NORMALLY WHEN I TRY A HILL OR PUT THE FOOT DOWN.THIS NORMALLY HAPPENS AROUND 2200
REVS OR THERE ABOUTS.NO ODD NOISES OR EXTRA SMOKE.IF I POWER THE IGNITION OFF AND ON AGAIN WHILE DRIVING I HAVE FULL POWER AGAIN.THANKS

You need to get the fault codes read but it sounds like it's probably the MAF

It's probably upset that you shout at it all the time, and whatever you do, don't turn the ignition off, when driving, as the steering lock will come on, and then you will die.

Disconnect the battery negative to reset the ECU, DO NOT turn the ignition off when motoring, as said the steering will lock up, and also unburnt fuel will be deposited into the CAT, thus destroying it.

I have it booked in to the garage for thursday,i want to thank you for your help.THANKYOU.

Ihave the same car with the same proplem it is common I have heard and it is most likely the mass air flow meter it may not be at fault itself but a rubber pipe came off or perished
