Wall hung basin

Just wondering if anyone has seen this or something similar and can say if it will be an issue. I've got a wall hung basin and the internal and external surfaces of the area that the mounting holes go through aren't parallel. The basin sits flat on the wall but the bolt is tightening on an angled surface.

Is this a common issue and they just tighten up fine, or does this have to be flat and I need to return the basin?
