Wallpaper Backing Removal

I sized my walls before I hung the wallpaper about 2 years ago. I then pasted my wallpaper and hung it up. I have the top layer off but I have tried everything (hot water, hot water & vinegar mixture, DIF Gel) to get the backing off with no success. HELP!!!! I am running out of patience. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

P.S. The backing is not bubbling like it suppose to.

You tried steaming it off ?

No...I haven't tried that yet. Is it possible to use a steam iron for that instead of renting the equipment?

dont think a steam iron would work insuficiant steam cappacity
and they only steam when flat and its got a very hot sole plate

steaming kit is very cheap (well it is over here anyway) it's a bit of a shame, as you could borrow mine as I hardly ever use it, trouble is the postage would be a bit expensive! Good luck
