Wallpapering on sealant?

Having replaced the sealant around the floor-to-ceiling uPvc window, I am now ready to line the walls before painting them. Can anyone tell me are you able to wallpaper 'over' the sealant, as it is quite wide (approx 1 inch) or if i have to stop at the sealant line? The sealant is Unibonds Interior Frame sealant, which is a water based product.
Grateful for any advice

Why so much sealant? Wouldn't you have been better off plastering upto the frame? Cheaper too.
