Hi,

I will be purchasing some walnut engineered flooring soon.
It is unfinished.
Can someone recommend a hardwearing oil that will enhance the wood, not colour it. I would prefer a matt finish.

Also, as the flooring will be here a week before it is laid, would it be better to oil it before installation or wait till it is down.

Thanks

We would use Saicos Premium HardWaxOil - comes in 4 sheens, from ultra-mat to high gloss.

Always install your floor first, then apply the finish. Better, and simpler. Imagine oiling everything (where do you put the oiled boards without smudging/disturbing the finish) twice and then when you install it you cut some boards and damage the edges - no protection of the wood there and smudged edges if you try to "repair" the damage with more oil
