Want to extend main telephone line into house

Actually for next door who is having major renovation work done, he's out of the country and needs to find out how much it would cost to have the main phone line into the house moved/extended as this has cropped up as an issue after work started.

Can anyone do this or only BT? Do I just try to contact their engineering team or what?

Any advice welcome, it's not something I know anything about.

BT only if the main socket needs moving as it could involve moving the external as well.

Only BT openreach are supposed to touch the wiring before the master socket. I belive you have to contact the telephone provider for the service on the line to get this work arranged but i'm not positive on that.

Yep you phone your service provider and ask for a shift, they send bt round. Costs about £130.
