Wash program stops mid cycle

Hello, I own a Siemens SN65M086EU/43 dishwasher that, unfortunately, has recently stopped completing its wash programs correctly.

It all started when, every other wash, it wouldn't dry, leaving me with dripping dishes.

The problem gradually worsened, and sometimes it wouldn't even drain the water after a wash.

In recent weeks, the problem has gotten worse, and sometimes the program stops after just 10 minutes.

Sometimes, even 5 hours after starting, when I open the door to check the remaining time, the display still shows 1:28 remaining. Essentially, the timer remains stuck, and I have to reset it manually.

I tried running the cycles with a different circuit board, and the results were the same.

I'm wondering if the door lock sensor is faulty and could be causing these symptoms.

I should point out that the display never gave me a single error code, and in fact I was wondering what the key combination was to enter diagnostic mode.

It doesn’t sound like a door lock issue - those usually trigger an error or prevent the cycle from starting. Your symptoms point more toward a faulty heating element, temperature sensor (NTC), or possibly a drain pump issue. When the water isn’t heating or draining properly, the program can stall and the timer won’t advance. I’d start by checking the heater and NTC sensor first.

From your description, I don't think the door lock is the most likely cause. Since the dishwasher sometimes doesn't drain, doesn't dry, and the timer gets stuck without showing an error code, I'd first check the drain pump, pressure sensor, heating circuit, and wiring/connectors. A blocked drain system or a faulty sensor can cause the controller to wait indefinitely, which matches the frozen countdown you're seeing. If you can access the service mode, it should help identify which component isn't completing its test cycle.

Hi, sorry I forgot to share the cause of the breakdown.
The faulty component was the main board.
Successfully repaired by a technician, it was an ac/dc converter on the board if i remember right.
Previously I've tried to change the lcd board and it wasn't the problem.
